Along with the people’s life standard is improved, natural stone product is becoming more and more common in the use of high-grade decoration for outer/interior wall surface of building, and favorite to architectural projects and the families. The annual consumption of stone product increases every year, the annual output and the export volume of stone materials of our country have been the top in the world.
To make further improvement on standardizing the factory manufacture and product quality, to promote the health development of the industry, General Administration of Product Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine had made national supervision sampling inspection for the quality of natural granite/marble building panel product; 30 products from 29 enterprises of 6 provinces and municipalities directly under the jurisdiction of Central Government were inspected, 26 passed, the pass rate of product sample is 86.7%. (The 6 provinces and municipalities directly under the jurisdiction of Central Government are Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, Fujian, Guangdong, and Sichuan.)
This sampling inspection was done in accordance with related national standard for product exterior quality, length deviation, width deviation, thickness deviation, planeness deviation, angle deviation, mirror glossiness and radioactivity nuclide of Natural Granite. After several continues national supervision inspections, enterprises have controlled the radioactivity nuclide limit strictly, and all inspected radioactivity nuclide items were past when this sampling. It is indicated in the result of inspection that products of the large enterprises which have more market occupancies have the better quality.
The main quality problems founded in this inspection are as following:
First, the length deviation and the width deviation were unqualified. There were 2 products failed to meet the standard size in length/width in this time sampling.
Secondly, the mirror glossiness didn’t meet up to the standard. There were 2 products failed in the inspection item of mirror glossiness in this time sampling, and the test value of one product was only 21 glossiness units, which is far below than standard (the standard requires 70 glossiness units at least).
For the problems reflected in this inspection, AQSIQ will ask related quality technology supervision departments to strictly deal with the unqualified enterprises in this inspection for product quality in accordance with the laws and regulations, and ask them to correct and reform within a definite time. AQSIQ will continue to follow up the inspection of this kind of products, especially on the radioactivity nuclide limit which is directly refer to human health, and make a trustable and satisfied consumer environment for the customer.
